Kohmunity Hostel

Kohmunity Hostel is a hostel in Thong Sala, Koh Phangan, 200 m from Thong Sala Beach, with garden-view rooms. It is an adults-only property for travellers aged 18 to 40, offering a private double room alongside shared dormitory beds. The dorm options include mixed rooms for four, eight or ten people and a ten-bed female dormitory.

The female dorm and eight-bed mixed dorm have a safety deposit box; the female dorm also has a tea and coffee maker. Dormitories use bunk beds, while the private room has a double bed.

Kohmunity Hostel brings together dining, exercise and outdoor spaces. Its restaurant and bar provide places for meals and drinks, while the fitness centre, yoga classes and outdoor swimming pool offer on-site recreation. Thong Sala is Koh Phangan’s port town on the island’s south-west coast. Its night market, banks and shops serve ferry passengers as well as residents. Thong Sala Beach is 200 m from Kohmunity Hostel, Baan Tai Beach is 300 m away, and Baan Don Sai is 700 m away. Fresh Market is 1.4 km away.

Koh Phangan has no airport, so air travellers arrive via Koh Samui and continue by ferry to Thong Sala; crossings from Bangrak or Maenam take about 20–30 minutes. Seatran sails from Bangrak, while Lomprayah runs from Maenam. The ferry pier is 1.8 km from Kohmunity Hostel. Shared songthaews leave Thong Sala for Ban Tai and other island destinations and can cover the last stretch. Free public parking is possible on site, with space for up to six cars and subject to availability. Roads towards Haad Rin and Thong Nai Pan are steep, so take care on a scooter.

Phantip Market is 1.5 km from the hostel, and KBA Kiteboarding Centre - Koh Phangan is 1.1 km away. Phaeng Waterfall is 3.3 km inland, while Wat Pra Yai is 850 m away. Than Sadet-Ko Pha-ngan National Park covers the interior and east coast, and Khao Ra is Koh Phangan’s highest point at 627 m. At the hostel, there is a pool, fitness centre and yoga; the surrounding waters offer scuba diving and surfing.
